Lake Marion Art Gallery is pleased to announce a month long exhibit by
Bryan Hacker, owner of Wen Lily's Cafe and Gifts, located at 112
Main Street in Summerton, SC. A reception and an opportunity to meet the
artist will be held April 8, from 2-4 PM at Lake Marion Artisans Art
Gallery. Bryan is a multi-media artist
exhibiting paintings, metal work and leather goods in this gallery exhibit.
Bryan
Hacker is not only a local business owner, he is also a philanthropist
dedicated to doing all he can to preserve the history of Summerton and
to recovering as much of its former charm as possible by saving, refurbishing
and renovating many of the downtown buildings. Sales of his art work will go to the
non-profit foundation he has established to help spruce up
downtown Summerton. In addition to painting downtown buildings, he has built planters for flowers and
shrubs, and is now working on a grant to help the downtown area do further renovations. In addition, he is restoring a building at 210 Main Street
which will house a museum dedicated to showcasing historic Summerton.
Bryan
says, "We are working hard so the future generations will be able to
enjoy this beautiful area their parents and grandparents built and enjoyed." He
believes that with the help of donors and the community at large, he can
help the town better thrive and attract new, local businesses interested in relocating to a revitalized downtown Summerton.
Come support
Bryan's effort to really make a difference in Summerton. He has shown
everyone that positive change can truly happen, one brush stroke at a
time. Check out the exhibit of his art works on display at the Lake Marion Artisans' Gallery.
