The Clarendon County Museum & History Center is located at 102 South Brooks Street. As most local county residents know, Brooks Street is part of historic Highway 301 which runs through Manning, S.C. This location currently belongs to the Bank of Clarendon.
The building housing the museum was listed as the “Ridgill’s Super Service” Station in the 1960 City Directory. In 1970, it was listed as “A H Breedin Shell Station”. The Bank of Clarendon obtained the property from Goldsmith Properties in 2008 after the building had been converted into an insurance office. The Bank of Clarendon now owns all the property that fronts on S. Brooks Street from E. Keitt Street to E. Huggins Street.
