Premium Peanut has begun site preparation and construction of its new facility in Santee, S.C. Their new operation will provide additional local shelling capacity and will allow SC peanut growers the opportunity to be a part of a productive cooperative model with over 400 grower-owners. Their $64.3 million investment is expected to create 130 new jobs in the area.
Premium Peanut’s customers include major snack, candy and peanut butter manufacturers domestically, as well as customers in more than 30 countries around the world. The company says it “is grateful for the strong support from peanut growers and community leaders in South Carolina.”
