The town of Summerton is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan, as required by SC laws. The Comprehensive Plan is a document that describes the history, current state, and future vision for the community. It acts as a road map to guide future growth and development while also promoting the health, safety, and general welfare of the people living in our community. The town's Planning Commission is overseeing the process and hopes to submit a draft of the revised Comprehensive Plan to the Town Council by the end of April 2017. If you are interested in reading the current Comprehensive plan for the town, written back in 2013, you may request a copy by visiting Town Hall or calling 803-485-2525.
The Comprehensive Plan for the town of Summerton should reflect the ideas and opinions of the community's residents. Every Summerton resident is invited to complete the Comprehensive Plan Survey. Your survey responses will be kept confidential. You have until March 10 to complete the survey. Again, please contact the Summerton Town Hall to obtain a copy of the survey.
